Fenry Honda began as a joke when John (Carbman) mentioned he would like to build his own chopper from the frame up. The end result is anything but a joke. A buddy of John's bent the 1 1/4" DOM pipe and dropped off the pieces at my shop and said go ahead, go for it! After taking a course on welding and getting a frame jig, John tackled the project using a 1981 Honda 900F he had purchased. . Most of the parts are just things he found or fabricated. He's into the project for around the $4000 mark and took 2nd place at the Vancouver Gastown Show and Shine, being beat out by a high dollar metric cruiser. The paint and upholstery were done by John, and the pipes were done by the original friend who started all of this. Fenry rides fast and true, and John is proud to be part of an elite group of backyard, budget constrained bike builders. This 900 is one joke that nobody laughs at! |
| If you'd like to submit your chop(s) to the Gallery get some nice pics together along with a paragraph or two on the bike(s) and specs then send it to Submissions (be sure the message is no bigger than 5 megabytes or split it into two messages). Use this page as an idea of what to cobble together for us. If the submission is useable and when time permits it will be added. You can also add your sled to the Member's Rides Forum anytime as well! |
