This 2 year build started with a stock '83 750 complete bike. A frame from cycle one was modified to fit a 330 rear and incorporate one off plunger style suspension boxes. All the plunger springs, nuts, shafts, etc came from Miloroy. A curved tube also replaced the transition from the top tube to the seat post. The rake is 36 degrees, 4" forward, 2" up, and 2" extended rear. I was the first to have the rear tubes curved from cycle one. The frame has a Harley Big Twin neck. The springer is from a Harley FLSTS with a Works shock. Extra lower side tubes were welded in place to mount the floorboards. The front wheel is solid aluminum with an Avon 150-17. The rear wheel is also solid aluminum with an Avon 330-17 and one off inside hubs. Harley brake rotors with Honda calipers. Harley forward controls and handlebar controls. Ultima takes care of the wiring, except the Microsquirt fuel injection stuff. Harley police air seat with a different type of air bag. Indian headlight. "59 Cadillac tail lights. The engine was adapted over to use the 900 dual oil pump. The oil cooling system uses two 900 coolers sitting up underneath the bottom frame. The engine is electronic fuel injected. The throttle bodies are from a Suzuki GSXR-750. The ECM is Microsquirt. The Walbro high pressure fuel pump is mounted under the engine. The "real" gas tank is just in front of the rear wheel. The 3-1/2 gallon aluminum tank is from Dans Performance. The fake (or is it faux) gas tank holds the electrics. The Mitsubishi TD03L-8G turbocharger is mounted in front of the engine. All the exhaust is stainless steel. The turbocharger is liquid cooled. A small diaphragm pump pumps coolant to the turbo from a small cooler mounted on the rear fender. The little pump takes its pulses from #4 intake. There is a small coolant tank up inside the fake gas tank. Oil feed to the turbo is taken off of the line going to the top end. There is a restrictor fitting going into the turbo. The turbo drain runs back into the left engine cover. A rubber hose with stainless braided covering goes back to a modified Yamaha plenum box. The jack shaft started it's life from a versatile swather! Many hours spent on putting fins on all the engine covers. Everything is powder coated.....very little chrome found on this bike. |
